Throw Revolution X Spinworkx Trick Tutorials #16 - Inverted Eli Hop

Throw Revolution, together with us, will be releasing a set of 20 Trick Tutorials to get players, new or old, honed in for freestyles. This set of tricks to come include various modern elements that is worth a learn to rack up points during contests.

The trick-set for these trick tutorials was thought up by 2011 World Yo-Yo Champion, Marcus Koh, and the elements in these short tricks are still used by Marcus in his contest freestyles.

For the sixteenth trick in the Trick Tutorials line-up, we have a hop trick that was made popular by 2011 Asia Pacific 1A Champion, Christopher Chia. The Eli Hop is a simple yo-yo hop that yo-yo players around the world has come to love. But in 2011, Christopher Chia did a variation of the simple hop, adding the Inverted Eli Hop into his AP winning routine and that made the trick famous.

Now, from time to time, you will see this trick performed in contest freestyles all over. Again, just like the Over the Arm hops, we recommend that you know how to do Eli Hops, and do it consistently. Once you have got that down pat, the Inverted Eli Hop is just a slight modification to that trick.

This is yet another 'big' looking trick that is excellent for freestyles or performances. So be sure to master your Eli Hops, and then the Inverted Eli Hop, and these tricks will visually add more to all your freestyles!

As always if you have any questions, you can hit us up on Facebook, Instagram, drop us an email, or come down and ask us (or the Throw Revolution team) on how to perfect this (or any other) trick!

Have fun practicing, and keep spinning!
