Spinworkx BBQ 2010: BBQ Much?

Normally when we announce a Spinworkx event, most players gather their gear, music, and make their way down early to the event site to practice and get ready for a whole day of gut wrenching competition among peers on a stage in front of a live audience.

This time, however, players took time off from competition to come hang out, minger, and chill at our only non-competitive event we hold once a year, a gathering of our local spinner community where players can lay back and have fun, the Spinworkx BBQ 2010 saw the close of 2010's Spinworkx activities, and boy what a BBQ it was!

The results were announced at the BBQ and the winners went home with a trophy and Cash Vouchers!

Spinworkx Yo-yo Review: Duncan Freebird

It's been awhile since we covered a yo-yo review, and since we've been having quite a lot of new stuff being brought into our stores for the past week, we figured it'd make sense to at least review one of them...but which one?!?!?!

After much debating, we decided to take a look at the Freebird, Duncan's latest screaming eagle, and give it a test run to see what makes this yo-yo so hype that it took almost 2 years before it was finally released to the masses, and boy were we impressed!

Hey everyone,

how are you guys doing??

Hope the exams went well, your results are better than expected and you are all set to get some good R&R before the school term starts all over again. (Enjoy school while it lasts!)

Anyways, Spinworkx is proud to bring to you the very last event of 2010! After skipping a year, the annual BBQ is back, and this time, it's going to be a blast!

Here are the details that you need to know.

What: Spinworkx BBQ 2010

When: 19th November, 6.30pm

Where: Pasir Ris Park - BBQ Area 3 - Pits 39 & 40 (Near Carpark D)

Who: Everyone is welcome!!

Price: $10 (early-bird registration) / $15 (after cut-off date)

As we want everyone to come and enjoy themselves at this BBQ, we will be catering food, hence the price per person. However, if you do wish to contribute food too, we will be more than happy to accept!

The cut-off date for the early bird registration is the 15th of November at 12am!

Spinworkx chilling out with Jurong Health Services!!!

If you were walking around Jurong East yesterday or this afternoon, you'd probably notice the large white tentage located outside IMM. This is where the site of the future Jurong General Hospital will be, but for that weekend, it's where Jurong Health Services held its healthy lifestyle event, promoting the benefits of a healthier lifestyle to the general public...and guess what? Spinworkx got involved as well!

The Markmont Next is Mark Montgomery's new signature yo-yo, following the same profile as the original Markmont. Unlike the original, the Markmont Next is done on a lathe while the first Markmont was created on a mill.

With more rim weight added to the Next, the yo-yo has a more stable spin, allowing better spin times as well.
