Spinworkx First Mount #23 - Chopstick Trapeze

The Chopstick Trapeze is the next Chopstick mount that every Spinner should know if they intend to delve into the realm of Chopstick tricks. It may look simple, but in reality it is a little tricky. The Chopstick Trapeze mount may also seem a little redundant since it is essentially a Trapeze but with your thumb holding onto the string. However, from this mount, as there is an additional string segment, it opens up the possibility for even more tricks.

There issn't much to say about the Chopstick Trapeze, so let us just go on to describing how it is done.

Firstly, throw a straight Breakaway and have the string move in-between your non-throwing hand thumb and non-throwing hand index finger, with your palm facing downwards.

As the yo-yo is moving, start to pull it up as though you are doing a trapeze.

However, when you are landing this Trapeze, the yo-yo needs to fall in-between your non-throwing hand thumb and index finger and then onto the string.

Once the yo-yo has landed onto the string, your should successfully be in the Chopstick Trapeze mount.

Viola, short and sweet!

Of course, though the description of this mount may be short, you may need some practice perfecting the Chopstick Trapeze mount. As mentioned before, the Chopstick Trapeze is a great gateway to getting into more holds and mounts for more complex combos. Once you can get it consistently, experiment and create more combos and mounts of your own.

A few pointers to take note of when learning the Chopstick Trapeze:
1) During the Breakaway, keep the yo-yo swinging slow and steady before landing into the mount.
2) Try to push your thumb and index finger of your non-throwing hand as far apart as possible to allow as much space in between for the yo-yo to fall through and land onto the string.
3) Throughout the duration of the Mount, remember to keep the yo-yo and the string always on the same, straight plane.

That is all for #23 of the Spinworkx First Mount project.
