Spotlight Player - Hoe Chinji

Chinji dropped by our Spinworkx Store at Orchard Central one day as he was here holidaying with his family. Coming from Holland, Chinji told us that while he is over there, there are no other Spinners close to him for him to hang out with and learn tricks from. So coming here to Spinworkx was something very cool, exciting and different for him.

Chinji has a very friendly and easy-going attitude, and while we were teaching and learning tricks from him, it seemed as though we had been friends for years. Chinji showed us some of his Laceration tricks, and it left us amazed at how well he could play despite having no one to learn these tricks from. It was great meeting and getting to know Chinji, and making a friend from Holland.

Spotlight Player - Wee Teng Ee

When we first met Teng Ee, we noticed something different about him. His hunger to learn all the tricks that we could teach him was unlike other new Spinners. He would want to learn tricks from various styles like 1A, 2A, 4A and more. Teng Ee constantly pushed and challenged himself to perform difficult tricks and slowly, those difficult tricks became easy and he moved on to tougher tricks. Bit by bit, he continues to build a big arsenal of tricks and combos that are exciting to watch.

For a Spinner that has only been throwing for slightly over a year, Teng Ee is improving each time we see him. At the recent Singapore Yo-Yo Championships 2013, Teng Ee managed to take home Top 3 placings in the 1A, 2A and 4A Spinner divisions. We can't wait to see how much more Teng Ee has in store for us in the spinning world!

Brena is easily one of the best Female players we have seen not just in Singapore, but even in the world. At the rate she is learning 1A tricks, she is going to compete with the Pro 1A guys in no time. If you think that Spinning is always an all-boys sport, Brena will definitely prove you wrong. With her intricate and technical 1A combos, Brena is sure to leave you amazed at what a yo-yo can pull off. Spotlight Player - Chia Wei Ting

Wei Ting has been playing yo-yos for slightly over 4 months now, and is focusing on her Offstring (4A) style of play. Although her tricks are a little unpolished, her interest in the art of Spinning compels her to keep working on perfecting her tricks. Keep an eye on Wei Ting as she may just be one of the rising stars in the Offstring Division. Wei Ting is a testimony that Spinning is not just an all-boys sport. He is another up-and-coming Spinner from Singapore, and specialises in Single Hand tricks. After SYYC 2012, Brian has officially been promoted to the Pro Division and will be going up against some of the best in the World at the up-coming AP and  Singapore Competitions.
