Spinworkx BBQ 2010: BBQ Much?

Normally when we announce a Spinworkx event, most players gather their gear, music, and make their way down early to the event site to practice and get ready for a whole day of gut wrenching competition among peers on a stage in front of a live audience.

This time, however, players took time off from competition to come hang out, minger, and chill at our only non-competitive event we hold once a year, a gathering of our local spinner community where players can lay back and have fun, the Spinworkx BBQ 2010 saw the close of 2010's Spinworkx activities, and boy what a BBQ it was!

The results were announced at the BBQ and the winners went home with a trophy and Cash Vouchers!

It's been awhile since we covered a yo-yo review, and since we've been having quite a lot of new stuff being brought into our stores for the past week, we figured it'd make sense to at least review one of them...but which one?!?!?!

After much debating, we decided to take a look at the Freebird, Duncan's latest screaming eagle, and give it a test run to see what makes this yo-yo so hype that it took almost 2 years before it was finally released to the masses, and boy were we impressed!

Hope the exams went well, your results are better than expected and you are all set to get some good R&R before the school term starts all over again. (Enjoy school while it lasts!)

Anyways, Spinworkx is proud to bring to you the very last event of 2010! After skipping a year, the annual BBQ is back, and this time, it's going to be a blast!

Here are the details that you need to know.

What: Spinworkx BBQ 2010

When: 19th November, 6.30pm

Where: Pasir Ris Park - BBQ Area 3 - Pits 39 & 40 (Near Carpark D)

Who: Everyone is welcome!!

Price: $10 (early-bird registration) / $15 (after cut-off date)

Eastern State Throwdown 2010 *Videos Inside*

It's been over a week since EST 2010, a regionals event which saw some of the best freestyles from the Spinner Category yet! In just a few short month since the Singapore Yoyo Championships 2010, our young Padawans have been hard at work, training their routines, and getting up on stage last weekend to show off their stuff!

With this year's Eastern State Throwdown being held at the Theatrette on the 5th floor, players were treated to a private enclosed area with a large stage area and high ceiling to perform, along with air conditioning that kept everyone cool and comfortable at all times!

Spinworkx Challenge Grading Event #2!

Hey Spinners,

our quarterly Spinworkx Challenge Grading event is back again and is to be held this coming Sunday, as announced at EST 2010. Here are the details.

Where: UPCC Classroom #05-04

When: 26th September (Sunday)

Time: Registration / Set up starts at 12.00pm

Registration fee: SGD15.00 for Foundation Level, SGD15.00 for Intermediate Level (Both are one-time payments) to be paid during the event.

Upon completion of the Foundation level, players will receive a Foundation Badge and Spinworkx T-shirt.

This Blue-logo Spinworkx tee cannot be bought, but it can only be won upon completion of the Intermediate level.

Spinworkx Yoyo Review: Duncan 2010 Freehand *Exclusive!*

When we first got word that Duncan was going to take an old favorite, and make it even better, we can't help but be a little skeptical.

After all, Duncan has always been very successful at making yo-yos catered to beginners and advance players alike, offering good performance plastics with little maintenance to the yo-yo.

Closed This Sunday

The Spinworkx Store will be closed on the 19th of September in light of the Eastern State Throw Down 2010 held at the Ulu Pandan Community Club.

This competition is open to public so come on down to catch the performances from 1pm onwards!
